PERFECT

I'll never be a perfect girl
Until we build a perfect world
I'll never have a pretty face
Until we build a pretty place
I'll never learn to close my eyes
Or let things rest, or compromise
I'll never learn to close my mind
Or comprehend the undefined
I'll never change from being me
Swamped with sensitivity
I think too much and search for proof
The price I pay for needing truth
I don't believe in destiny
Determinism does nothing for me
I can change my life by using my mind
Then I can leave this darkness behind
I'll throw out the blades and the length of rope
The next sunrise will give me hope
The sun will set on another day
I'll still be here and I'm going to stay.
