RAINBOW

On a sunny day torn apart by rain
Comes something so rare - beauty that's not vain.
Rainbow edges through the clouds
Veil of vapour, sunshine shroud.

Red as a valentine
Amber like gold
Iridescent colours
Numbing my soul
Breaking storm clouds
Opressing the rain
Water cascading, wash away pain.

I want to be a prism of glass
Dissecting light, an enviable task
Flame red to the left, UV to the right
Intangible power, just out of sight
White rays split into every hue
And every colour reminds me of you
From infra-red to ocean blue
The whole spectrum brings me back to you.
